Beach Trip Before School Starts

Cape San Blas, Florida

Family beach trip minus son and family who live too far away to come this time. Wish you were here James, Sarah and Will.

I don't know who was prouder, Granddaddy or Daddy, of grandson's redfish. Redfish was 26 inches and was delicious blackened for dinner.

Great grandmother is a joy to have with us.

Our beach neighbors must be from Texas.

I am relaxing and reading David McCullough's new  book, The Greater Journey-Americans in Paris. It is extremely interesting.

I am joining Wow us Wednesdays, Wayfaring Wednesday and Outdoor Wednesday.

  1. That ocean water looks so refreshing! It's nice you can vacation as an extended family. The redfish was a wonderful catch! I like McCullough's books -- I hope to get this one from the library soon!

  2. Now this looks like a wonderful family vacation. You have all the components. Family, the house, the surf and a beautiful day.

  3. The trip and family time sounds like a little slice of heaven. Haven't heard of the book before but thanks for sharing.

  4. Lovely ! Just lovely and it looked so cool!

  5. WoW... thank you for that post... It sure looked beautiful! Lovely Beach time...

  6. Your family is so sweet! The beach is just great for a family vacation.

  7. So very nice to meet you and your lovely family. The photos of the beach are beautiful.

  8. I didn't make it to the beach this year so I have enjoyed your photos. You captured the trip perfectly. Visiting from Laura's Wayfaring Wednesday!

  9. Keep me posted on the book! I'd love to know if it's one I should add to my list. Though now that I"m home from Maine, I'll be a much slower reader. I read like crazy up there...must be soothing about coastal air! :)

Glad you enjoyed some good memories with your family!

  10. What a fabulous trip! I adore the kites.

Thank you so very much for linking up on Wayfaring Wednesday!

  11. Your post and photos told the perfect story of a wonderful family vacation.
