Fall Scenes from my House

The mums are blooming and the leaves are falling.

The cooler air gets me in the mood to bake. I finally made Ann Drake's apple walnut bread found here and it didn't last long.

On a funny note... this pic was made last Dec 4th. I was ready to decorate for Christmas and couldn't stand to throw away all my pumpkins so I gathered them together for an outside photo. Then I put them deep in the back of my natural area and finally threw them away unchanged in early March. Last winter was extremely mild.

  1. The good thing about pumpkins, at least some varieties, is they last forever. I brought all my white ones from Maine because I couldn't bear to throw them away. They'll probably appear again!
I'm always glad to glimpse your world.

  2. Beautiful photos Bonnie, love your bar vignette! I've been drooling over Ann's apple cake too :) I was just looking at my pumpkin and gourd stash thinking it was a shame to toss them out in a couple of weeks to make way for Christmas.

  3. Dear Bonnie, just taking a moment or two to catch up... loved all of your Italy posts! And, yes, I've picked cotton, too... but, spent more time packing it in trailers headed to the gin (before the big module builders they have now)... The cotton fields are so lovely and your grandmother's quilt made a perfect fall table! So beautiful! Thank you for your kind words, Bonnie. The gift of encouragement is priceless. Thank you again. blessings and hugs ~ tanna
ps I have a hard time throwing away perfectly beautiful pumpkins, too. ;)

  4. Bonnie: So glad you stopped by! Some time ago, I "lost" my contacts and have slowly been rebuilding. I've never picked cotton but grew up in the south.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  5. I'm so glad you liked the bread! Your loaf looks amazing. Fall is on it's way out here in Ohio. Almost all the leaves are down and it's cold. Your special touches are lovely. Happy Weekend ~ Ann

  6. I enjoyed scrolling through your pictures to get into an Autumn mood in time for planning Thanksgiving. That Apple Walnut bread looks absolutely scrumptious.
