A Little Romance

Romance is in the air today! Welcome to a "Romantic Table for Two" Blog Hop sponsored by Chloe Crabtree of Celebrate and Decorate. I am honored to be a part of many talented bloggers participating in this blog hop. At the end of this post you will find links to visit all the other blogs posting Monday through Thursday of this week.

What do you think of when you think of romance? The definition of romance is a feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love.

Valentine's Day is coming up and we think of candy, flowers, jewelry, perfume, beautiful cards, a special night out or a quiet meal at home. I like to set a romantic table and have an intimate meal at home.

These etched crystal coupes were my mother's.  I think the pattern is romantic with it's delicate scrolls, vines and flowers. The soft and sheer embossed tablecloth and matching napkins repeats the theme and were given to me by my mother-in-law. So, a celebratory toast: to my parent's and my husband's parent's.

My Mother and Daddy were married after the war in December of 1945 and my husband's parent's August of 1946. I'm so sentimental I wanted to salute love and romance using my mother's crystal and my mother-in-law's linens today. I know they would both love I wanted to share their lovely things. How I wish they could see my table!

And what is romance without candlelight and flowers?

Candlelight creates a romantic ambience.

The other elements of the table are my wedding selections.

Look closely and you can see our monogram on the napkin ring.

I wanted my "Romantic Table for Two" to have a soft and serene feel. And to complete the romantic ambience imagine  Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole singing Unforgettable and that would say romance to me.
