A Candlelight Christmas Dinner

It's Christmastime, the wreaths are hung, the tree is decorated, the table is set for a special dinner and you are invited.
Welcome to a Christmas Tablescape blog hop sponsored by Chloe Crabtree@celebrateanddecorate. There are many talented tablescapers participating in this blog hop. For your inspiration, the blog hop  schedule is listed at the bottom of this post.

My color scheme is red, white and gold. I've selected a family china pattern placed on gold chargers, crystal goblets, gold flatware, and crystal candlesticks.  A crystal etched bowl holds white hydrangeas for the centerpiece.
Hopefully, the soothing colors, the simplicity of the dishes,  and the warmth of the candlelight will not distract from the beautiful faces sitting around the table.

Are you excited when you receive an invitation to a Christmas dinner party?  I certainly am.

I love having small dinner parties with friends. Getting dressed up and anticipating a lovely evening with good food and being with friends is my kind of evening.

My table seats 12-14 but I prefer intimate dinner parties where you can really visit and have time for everyone to share.

Table elements include:
Eschenbach China-Bavaria, Tablecloth and Napkins-Waterford Linens- Home Goods, Crystal Goblets-Gorham, Gold flatware-Hobby Lobby

The warmth of candlelight, pretty Christmas music in the background, laughter from friends, and memories shared can't be beaten.
I hope the Christmas tablescapes from this blog hop (Schedule is listed below)will inspire you to host a Christmas event and enjoy your friends or family.

Thank you, dear readers, for your friendship. Thank you for your encouragement and inspiration.
May the joy of Christmas fill your heart. ❤️

⭐️ For God so loved the world, that He gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Merry Christmas🎄

The pops of red provide the perfect accent and color of the season, paired with your gorgeous dinnerware and crystal stems. Your white hydrangeas make a beautiful centerpiece placed on your pedestal in your etched bowl. As always, it’s a pleasure to pull up a chair at your table and join you for a blog hop! 2. Bonnie, this is classic Christmas beauty right here. Of course, the china caught my eye, its gold band all the flair needed for such a classic. I love the polished finish on the flatware, perfect in this setting, and the linens - wow! That rich red against the white - I bet laundering that is not a simple thing, but it is stunning in the contrast on the drape. I'm in your camp with enjoying smaller gatherings, but as you know, that will not be my situation this year. I can picture nice conversation around this table, candlelight somehow keeping things calm and quiet.
I wish you a very Merry Christmas, and appreciate your virtual company every chance I get!

  4. It's beautiful, Bonnie. Elegant, simple and delightful. There's something about red and gold that looks so very regal and yet this doesn't look haughty but welcoming. I hope no one spills something ugly on your tablecloth!

  5. Bonnie, you have such a lovely refined sense of beauty. Your table is so elegantly appointed for Christmas. The red ornaments with the tag look so perfect topping your gold trimmed placesetting. Then just the little bit on red trim on the napkins give it just the right amount of color with keeping that stunning look. Have a wonderful Christmas!

  6. I agree with you Bonnie, I prefer more intimate dinner parties for the very reason you stated. And we were just talking the other evening about dressing up and that many do not dress up these days ....and I think it is kinda sad that we have (somewhere along the line), decided that hole-y jeans and sweat pants are attire for dinner parties. :( . ...I know it is the people's faces that are more important around the table, as you said....and I agree. I still can't help but feel I should dress up for a dinner party. OK, I will get off my soap box and tell you what a lovely table you have set in red, gold and white! Very elegant. The red ornament place card is the perfect final touch. Thanks for the inspiration and as I like to repeat...if one does not find inspiration in these blog hops...they just aren't looking. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  18. Bonnie, my favorite part was your remark about "beautiful faces around the table." Family and friends at the table is way we do it. I think it would be nice if we could include one picture of those loved ones around a tablescape. Loved the big red ornament at each place setting as a fun favor. Couldn't help but noticing your carolers in the background. I have little groups of them all around the house.

  29. Everything looks so beautiful. I especially like candle holders. However, most of people don't use candles at all. I wonder why?
