Eddie's Birthday Luncheon

Thirteen friends got together recently in my home for a birthday luncheon for our friend, Eddie! You may remember Eddie's barn featured here.

Our appetizer was goat cheese coated with sunflower seeds drizzled with honey spread on toast points or crackers with fresh blueberries and it was yummy. We had already dug in before I remembered to make a picture.
This is our group of sweet friends. We get together every Monday at different restaurants for lunch. I should have put my camera on a tripod and set the timer but I didn't so we made two pics to get everyone in. Three of the girls were out of town and were missed.
Our menu was chicken rice casserole with artichokes (not pictured), strawberry congealed salad with pretzel crust, tossed green salad with dried apples and tomatoes, pimento cheese muffins and cheesecake for dessert.
I had the pleasure to host the party and enjoy setting the table and making flower arrangements. The food was made by six different friends.

And here's Eddie, our birthday girl, ready to blow out her birthday candles. I am still recovering from almost dropping the cake as I put it on the table!

This little arrangement holds a few blooms from my garden. It's early for hydrangeas but I was delighted I had a few blooms already.

The other arrangements scattered around are store bought flowers.
This sweet little devotional book I've had for years inspired this vignette of flowers.
We had a lovely time eating, visiting and reminiscing while looking at old pictures of get togethers in the past.
I've been out of the loop for the last two weeks. I've missed reading and commenting on many blogs but life has taken precedent. I hope to catch up soon.
Have a wonderful week.

How nice that you already have hydrangeas...it'll be another 6 weeks before I even see any small flower heads forming.

  7. What a pretty table table toy set, Bonnie, and what a pretty group of friends, as well. Happy Birthday to Eddie! I almost did the exact same thing with a strawberry tart that I served to some friends yesterday! It almost slid off my pedestal, but luckily was saved!!

The menu was perfect and the food looks delicious. How nice for all of your group to be able to get together so often. Sorry I'm late, we have been busy doing a few projects and then we headed to Seaside for a weeks vacation. Always good to come home. Hope you have a wonderful week........hugs.
