The Most Unique Barn Ever!

As you enter this unique barn you are immediately awed by the greenhouse full of vintage architectural elements, tole trays, and paintings. Throughout the barn you are charmed back to a former time with many delightful collectibles.

Plants are everywhere and it even has a seating area.
I made these pictures over a year ago and now it is all different.
My friend, Eddie is an avid collector and her husband and sons are big hunters. You'll see evidence of this throughout their barn.

A large farm table seats 12 or more and is used often.
Love her dishes !
This occasion was a lunch for friends using her fresh farm eggs for numerous quiches.

We met her chickens after lunch. I think they all have names.

These were in the refrigerator after she made all the quiches. I love the blue egg.

 Tomato asparagus

It's been a while and I'm not sure of all the kinds of quiches but all were delicious.

Eddie is a fabulous cook and everyone is always thrilled to be her guest.
This is my plate with four different kinds of quiche and apple cheese casserole.
 Dessert was cheesecake!

You can see we ate well!

All these ladies are special friends.
I'm in this one. Can you find me?
 Vintage bottles catch the sunlight.
Every vignette is amazing.
The vintage signs have significance here.

Old doors nailed together make a great closet.
All the wood and old doors were found at various places.
The light fixtures came out of an old church.
Sitting by a fire at their barn after a fantastic meal and great conversation around their farm table can't be beat. Her regular house is a total different style with lovely english antiques chocked full of blue and white transferware styled beautifully. Eddie is a talented decorator, gardener, chef and wonderful friend.
Now, to continue the tour......
The room divider is an old ticket counter.

This is the other side of the ticket counter. This piece is quite a conversation piece.

The bathroom is intriguing too. Very unique.

The large front porch is a pleasant place to gather in good weather.
Love, the stag horn fern.

Eddie was in the antique business for a number of years. She still enjoys going to auctions and has a knack for finding old treasures and giving them a good home.
Very little was bought from retail stores but was found at salvage places.
Maybe I can share her home with lovely english antiques and fabulous blue and white transferware sometime.

Have you ever seen a barn like this? It is certainly not your ordinary barn. It deserves a Southern Living feature. A good photographer could show it off as it deserves. The lighting was a challenge for me since I am quite a novice photographer.
